ONSITE: Pen + Ink Drawing

Learn how to draw using black India ink, a dip pen and brush. We’ll cover techniques such as cross-hatching and stippling. You’ll learn the ins and outs of using a dip pen and brush, then we’ll go over drawing fundamentals such as value, perspective and line. We’ll also study the history of ink drawing by examining the work of Rembrandt, Goya, Dore and other artists.

Dashiell Kirk

Dashiell Kirk is a illustrator based in Richmond. His work ranges from Comics and graphic novels to playing card games and posters. He teaches cartooning, comic book illustration, and ink drawing at the Visual Arts Center, and has a BFA in Communication Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University.
