Kurinuki is the Japanese technique of starting with a block of clay, developing the exterior, then hollowing it out. We’ll create an incense or essential oil burner. Students will receive two 3-5 pound blocks of stoneware clay and be shown the basic techniques of forming both the outside and hollowing the inside to create airflow.
