Visual Arts Center of Richmond Cancels Previously Postponed Craft + Design Event Scheduled for June 2021, Will Host 57th Annual Craft + Design Show, November 19-21, 2021 at Main Street Station
The Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts) will host its 57th Annual Craft + Design show on November 19-21, 2021.
In July 2020, the organization announced the postponement of the 56th annual, in-person version of the event until June 4-6, 2021. Given the uncertainty that still surrounds the COVID-19 pandemic and state restrictions on gatherings, VisArts decided to cancel the in person show scheduled for June and continue with the Craft + Design’s traditional, November schedule.
VisArts traditionally hosts this museum-quality, contemporary craft show each year in November, the weekend before Thanksgiving. In November 2020, VisArts hosted an online version of the event which featured over 120 artists from across the country.
The application deadline for artists has been extended to May 23, 2021. Artists can apply online at visarts.org/events/craft-design-show/artists/. The Craft + Design jury will evaluate applications in May and notify selected artists by June 30, 2021.
VisArts will share more information about the November 2021 event as soon as it is available.
