Wearable Art: Become a Bug (Ages 6-8)

Play with cardboard, paint and sewing textures while learning all about bugs! We'll create wereable art and costumes. Let's attach giant legs and move around the hallways eating aphids and visiting flowers. Each student will pick out their bug and collect all sorts of information about it. Does your bug have hair on its legs? We might have to sew string to fabric to make your bug’s legs hairy! We'll watch nature videos to learn how our bugs move in the wild and we will copy their movements. This class will have a fun and collaborative atmosphere as we all get ready for “the change" as we transofrm into our bugs!

About the Instructor

Tori Qualls

Hi, I'm Tori! I love to paint and talk about art! In my work I try to reuse supplies and repurpose old fabrics to give them new life. My subject matter usually leans toward domestic scenes such as the home, and the incorporation of fibers help bring an expressive quality to my work. I love all mediums, but I use a lot of paper in my work in different collage forms.
