ONSITE: Writing is Magic: A Creative Exploration

Whether you're currently working on a literary project or trying to get inspiration, this generative workshop will serve as a gentle and fun way to push yourself creatively. Through prompts, mini-lectures, readings, supportive discussion, group members will work towards realizing their prose visions.

  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
    This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
About the Instructor

Nate Waggoner

Nate Waggoner’s writing has appeared in Electric Literature, Peach Mag, The Hard Times, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Barrelhouse and elsewhere. His comics ran in the Willamette Week paper through 2016. He has won or placed several times in Shipwreck, the rowdy fan fiction contest, and two of his stories for it were anthologized in their book Loose Lips. He has performed at Union Hall, the Magnet Theater, Litcrawl, and elsewhere.
