ONSITE: Wheel Throwing Large Forms Workshop
Join us for a one-day workshop to learn new skills in throwing larger forms on the wheel! You will learn how to center 5+ lbs, join thrown pieces together, and add coils to pieces on the wheel. We will work on making large serving bowls, planters, and larger shapes. You should comfortably be able to center and throw 3 pounds.

This class includes all clay needed. Students will pick up their finished pieces at a later date. This class does not include a glaze firing, only bisque friring.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
About the Instructor
Monika Bierschenk
Monika started taking ceramics classes at VisArts in 2019 and fell in love with the craft. Since then she has started a small batch ceramics company, Coneflower Clay, selling simplistic, functional ceramics ware locally. She just got back from an artist residency with El Sur in Mexico City. In her free time, she loves to bike and rock climb!
