ONSITE: Weave an Overshot Table Linen

Learn to weave with an overshot pattern and make a table linen. Using 2 shuttles weaving different patterns, overshot patterns allow you to expand your pattern potential without having to expand your loom. In this class we will discuss overshot patterns and how they function as a weave structure. Choose from a couple overshot patterns to make either one 14” x 40” table runner or two 14” x 20” place-mats. We will be using a simple cotton thread that is a great option for a textile that will be washed.

Special Notes

  • Students must have taken a beginner's weaving class before taking this class, or have basic floor loom weaving knowledge. The patterns we are using are written for a specific thread size (8/4 cotton) which will be provided.

This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
