ONSITE: Learn to Use a Sewing Machine: Make a Zippered Pouch
In this fast-paced beginners' course, students will learn the basics of machine sewing. First, students will learn how to set up their machines and practice using them. Once students feel comfortable with simple machine sewing, they will have the opportunity to sew a zippered pouch to apply their new skills. Along the way, students will learn how to cut and measure their fabric, consider seam allowance, put in a lining, and put in a zipper.
Special Notes
Sewing machines will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you would like. If you do bring your own machine, remember to also bring bobbins that fit your machine. Please check the supply list for details about what fabric to bring to class.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
