ONSITE: Introduction to Woodworking: Create a Spice Rack or Shelf

He who controls the spice controls the universe! Learn and use common tools found in a furniture-making woodshop to make a shelf to display your collection of precious spices (or something similar depending on your design). This class will provide an introduction to both manual and computer drafting, basic joinery and assembly knowledge, decorative chiseling/wood carving, and staining practices. Students will leave the class with a custom spice rack or a similar structure that they can brag to their friends about.

Special Notes

  • Due to the amount of information learned in each class, it is very helpful to attend every class. Safety glasses, closed toed shoes are required to work in the woodshop. Rings and bracelets of any sort should be removed. Loose and dangling clothing should be tucked in or removed all together. Long hair must be tied into a bun and/or secured by clips.

This instructor speaks Spanish, but class is held in English.
