ONSITE: Finishing Techniques in Jewelry

In this class we will learn about finishing techniques. From patina, to depletion gilding, to file finishing this class will give a broad survey of one of the most important stages of metalsmithing. Details can make a wearable sing and we will be investigating these details in this course. Not only will we learn about surface treatments but we will learn techniques for jewelry maintenance to ensure longevity of our work over time.

Special Notes

  • Previous metal jewelry experience is recommended. All materials are provided. Please note that this class does use lead-based enamels, but we will provide masks for students.
