VisArts Implements New Vaccination Requirement and COVID-19 Policy Updates

January 06, 2022 News

The Visual Arts Center of Richmond will require that all adults ages 18 and over be fully vaccinated, as defined by the CDC, to attend in-person classes or participate in studio access programs. This requirement will take effect on March 28, 2022. Individuals must provide proof of vaccination and have this verified before attending their first class or working in studios. Individuals that do not provide proof will not be permitted to attend class in the building or access studios.

At this time, proof of vaccination isn’t required for youth students under 18 years old. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is also not required to visit the center, attend gallery openings or events, or for short-term volunteer commitments. However, as an organization that serves youth and high-risk individuals, VisArts will continue to require masks in its facilities regardless of vaccination status. VisArts staff, teachers, studio monitors, and volunteers working with youth programs are already required to be fully vaccinated, which means that by the Spring class session all adult individuals working in VisArts studios will be fully vaccinated. VisArts encourages everyone to read up on its updated VisArts COVID-19 policies to stay up to date with changes.

3 Ways to Submit proof of vaccination:

  1. Upload proof of vaccination via our website.
  2. Email a picture of the front and back of your vaccination card to [email protected]
  3. Show your vaccination card in person to VisArts staff at our front desk.

Medical exemptions for COVID-19 vaccination are considered on a case-by-case basis. You must submit a COVID-19 Vaccination Medical Exemption Form and receive approval prior to attending your class or open studio hours. Complete and send the exemption form to [email protected].
