Lids, Lids + More Lids!
Explore various types of wheel-thrown lids and the benefits of each in relation to its pot’s form and function, from closed-form lidded pieces and sets countertop cannisters to casserole dishes and honey pots. Discuss topics will be various surface decoration and glazing techniques, including a raku fire at the end of the session. Must have wheel-throwing experience for this class.

No class 1/19, MLK day.
You will receive 25 pounds of clay; additional clay is available for purchase. Please bring a towel and clay tools.

Wheel-throwing requires some hand, arm and back strength, and the ability to lift 25lbs of clay. VisArts has standing wheels and wheelchair accessible wheels available - please let us know in advance if you need one of these options so we can make sure your studio is equipped.
