VisArts + RADAR Dance present Color Block: In Motion, a vibrant modern dance performance inspired by the multimedia works featured in Eleanor Anderson’s solo exhibition, Color Block, at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond. Drawing on the exhibition’s spirit of “social sculpture,” choreographers Kristin Bauer and Julia Pasquale translate Anderson’s bold visual language into movement, exploring how physical structures and artistic space can come alive through the body. Their choreography weaves together gesture, form, and interaction, creating a living counterpart to Anderson’s installation. The performance is set to an original score composed by Sebastian Jiménez-Pardo, whose music adds an evocative soundscape that deepens the dialogue between visual art and dance. Color Block: In Motion offers audiences a multisensory experience—where movement, sound, and visual art converge to reimagine how we inhabit and respond to space.
