Accessibility
The Visual Arts Center of Richmond strives to make art accessible for everyone, and our team is dedicated to working with studio users and students to make accommodations when possible.
Please note that many art-making processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills or finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. All studios except Drawing North are accessible by ramp or elevator, and additional studio-specific accessibility notes are listed below.
Studios features are subject to change, and we encourage community members to contact VisArts with any accessibility-related questions or accommodation requests upon registering for classes or applying for studio access.
Studios
Clay
Clay studios 1 + 2 have one wheelchair accessible wheel in each room. Clay 2 has two steps down to the glazing room, but can be accessed through Clay 1.
Drawing + Painting

Digital Lab
The digital fabrication studio (also known as the Fab Lab) is located down three steps; the connected computer lab is accessible.

The Letterpress studio has two steps down to access the room, but is accessible through an exterior door. A front desk person can help you enter.
Woodshop
The Woodshop has a short steep ramp.
