Classes

WTF (Woman, Trans, Femme) Woodworking: Utensils (A)

This class is a safe space for women, trans, and femme folks to learn introductory woodworking techniques. Students will learn to make spoons & spatulas in all different shapes and sizes! Students will gain experience using the band saw, electric sanders, hand tools and drill press. We will respect marginalized identities, be patient with one another, use accessible language and we won't leave anyone behind.

Special Notes

  • This class is designed for Women, Trans and Femme identifying people. Please choose another class if you do not self-identify with one of these groups.
Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. In this class, students will be on their feet most of the day, this is a loud medium so students with noise sensitively may want to bring noise canceling ear protection. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to [email protected] with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
