Classes

Metalworking: Tab Setting Jewelry + Sculpture (Ages 15 – 18)

Learn a variety of metal-working skills through learning tab setting, a flexible and customizable way of setting or attaching objects to metal. Small objects to tab set will be provided (some conventional, some experimental) and students are invited to bring in their own objects to tab set. These can be made into pendants, charms, or small sculptures. We’ll cover piercing, sawing, filing, and simple design techniques. Some soldering may be introduced depending on the project and student interest. Students will leave with multiple tab-set samples that will lead into at least one “final” project.

Special Notes

  • There will be objects offered for students to tab set but it is encouraged for the to bring in their own (small) objects.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

This class counts as a core class in our Teen Certificate Program.
