Classes

Metalworking: Riveting Sculpture (Ages 12-14)

Learn the basics of metalworking! In this class, students will create mechanical objects using rivets, which are small pins that are hammered through multiple layers of metal or other flat materials, creating pivot points where the piece may bend and rotate. We’ll cover piercing, sawing, filing, riveting, and simple design techniques. Some soldering may be introduced depending on the project and student interest. Students will leave with many exciting experiments and multiple sculptures, wearable pieces, or metal kinetic “puppets."
