Introduction to Metal Jewelry (C)
Learn how to transform metals into beautiful works of wearable art. We’ll cover techniques such as sawing, drilling, texturing, working with wire, filing, sanding and polishing. We’ll also cover riveting, soldering with a torch and basic stone setting. You’ll use these skills to make one finished piece of jewelry.
- Class will not meet on October 3, or October 10.
- Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
Some materials provided; the instructor will discuss other necessary supplies and how to purchase them. Students must wear closed toe shoes.
About the Instructor
Danielle Stevens is a local Richmond jeweler and artist. Completing her BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus in metal/jewelry. She spend the last 5 years of her career as an arts administrator, visual merchandiser and taught workshops at VCU and the Visual Arts Center. In the past year she received certification at the New Approach School for Jewelers and has continued her education through workshops at Penland and Arrowmont.See More Classes By Instructor
