Fused Glass: Make Your Own Pendant Necklace

Make a statement pendant in fused glass using instructor Franchell Brown's woven glass technique. In this class, you will learn to cut sheet glass and stringer to stack glass for a woven look, and basic knotting techniques to hang your pendant from paracord. We'll fire your work in a kiln, create smooth finishes, and prepare paracord rope to hang the pendant for a powerful statement piece.

Special Notes

  • Glass can be purchased through VisArts, you can expect to spend 10-20$ on glass. Tools will be available in the studio to use during class. Student must purchase their own Paracord. Any color will work. Sample pendant necklaces will be available to view during the first class for reference. Paracord will not be needed until the third or fourth class.
Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to [email protected] with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This class does not meet on 4/20 for Easter.
