Tesni Stephen (she/her)

Growing up in Richmond, Tesni took classes every summer at The Hand Workshop — including from some teachers who still teach at VisArts today! After receiving her B.F.A. in apparel design from Rhode Island School of Design and moving home, she discovered that she loved teaching when she began working at the newly renamed and renovated Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts). She now holds a masters in Art Education from VCU, and she loves supporting teaching artists in creating fun and educational arts curriculum for VisArts’ programs. She also enjoys supporting other arts organizations in town, making weird costumes and gifts for friends and family, and floating in any body of water on a floatie.
