Classes

Creating Visual Memoirs (Limited Offering) – New!

Using photos, ephemera, souvenirs, or any significant objects, this class will explore how you can connect threads in your life through art rather than a written narrative. Come ready to reflect on aspects of your life and choose a topic—family, travels, work, challenges, etc.—and a medium—drawing, collage, or map. Your finished work can be shared with others as a dimensional story illustrating important moments in your life thus far.

Special Notes

  • After choosing a topic and medium during the first class, you may want to bring items from home that you can use to help tell your stories.

Accessibility notes: Many artmaking processes require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, fine motor skills/finger dexterity, repetitive motions, vision, and some amount of physical strength. VisArts values making classes accessible to everyone, and is always happy to work with students to make accommodations when possible. Please reach out to [email protected] with specific questions related to accessibility or accommodations.

Paid studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
