Looking for a space to create? Need access to specialized tools and equipment? Want to become part of a vibrant community? VisArts offers adults (ages 18+) affordable access to 17 professionally-equipped studios designed for a variety of visual art media, including: clay, creative writing, digital media, drawing + painting, fiber, flameworking, glass, letterpress, metals, darkroom photography, printmaking, and wood. 

Cost

Hourly

Access to each studio costs $12 per hour. Active VisArts members receive a $2 discount, and students currently enrolled in a class receive a $5 discount. (That means if you’re an active member and a current student, your rate would be $5 per hour!)

Monthly

If you would prefer to instead pay monthly, studio access costs $140 for a 30-day period. Active VisArts members receive a $20 discount to monthly access.

VisArts’ Studio Access Program is now scheduled through Amilia. (This is the same portal students use to register for classes.) When you have an active membership applied to your account or are currently enrolled in a class, your discounts will be automatically applied.

How to Apply 

1. Submit an application using the link below.
2. Get approval from VisArts staff.
3. Get a studio tour and any additional training on equipment, if needed.
4. Sign our studio access agreement and agree to our studio policies.
5. Once approved, you will receive a private link via email to book your studio time!

Please note: Acceptance to VisArts’ Studio Access Program allows you to access our spaces and equipment.  While we value your enthusiasm in sharing this experience with friends, we do not allow additional, unvetted visitors in the studios while you create. If you would like to invite family for a visit to show off your creative passion, please reach out to [email protected] ahead of time.

Reserving HOURS

Studio access hours are reserved online in advance. Hours can be reserved right up until the hour you would like to book and for up to two weeks out from the current date. Payment is collected at the time you reserve online in Amilia; monthly users can purchase a monthly package that will cover hours booked within 30 days while hourly users will pay each time they reserve hours.

Cancellation Policy: You will be able to transfer your reserved hours to another open time. But if you would like to cancel your appointment and receive a refund, you must contact the front desk to make a cancellation request. In order to be eligible to receive a refund, studio access users must make their cancellation request by 12pm the day prior to their appointment.
