Former Featured Clay Artists

Remy Ciuba is a clay artist who draws from both her personal background and the natural world. Her work is ultimately an expression of interconnectedness of materials, geography and people. Her Irish roots inform a worldview of solidarity with the oppressed and a deep appreciation for craft and labor. This is reflected in the patterns, colors, and motifs of her work, which are inspired by the natural environment and historical ceramics from around the world. Remy finds a profound connection to people through creating functional art—pieces that are made to be held and used. Her work lives in hands, cupboards, sinks, and on counters, altars, and dinner tables, created through a mindful process of repetition and simplicity.

Conor Dimond is a ceramic artist based in Richmond, Virginia. Conor’s work draws upon the aesthetics of the desert’s warm hues, high mountain meadows, and the earth tones of riverbeds. His work often features glazes rich in history such as Shino, Celadon, and Tenmoku as a means of paying homage to potters before and after him. By harnessing earths picturesque imagery and integrating tradition; Conor strives to provide his viewers with a sense of familiarity. To achieve this, he sticks to functional pottery. He invites you to interact with each and every crevasse, and texture of his work, hoping that you feel a moment of presence and a welcomed seat at his table.
