BROWSE CLAY DAYS WORKSHOPS

These special, weekend-long events will include workshops tailored to different ages and skill levels. Come learn about pottery or practice your skills and enjoy some fresh air!

The setup:

  • 15 wheels outside, placed over 6 feet apart
  • Plenty of tabletop space (for hand building classes)
  • Lots of shade
  • Classes that are full (10-15 people) will have a clay studio monitor assigned to them
  • One of our indoor clay studios will be open if students need a break from the heat
  • Students will be allowed inside to use the restroom, but not for anything else
  • Students will be required to wear masks and use the hand sanitizer supplied by VisArts
  • Buckets will be available for clean up

Included with each class:

  • Clay
  • One bisque firing of your work

Students can glaze their pots at home, pay for hourly Community Studio Access time to glaze their pieces at VisArts, or pay to come to Raku Fridays, where we’ll fire the piece for you!

A note about weather: In the event of rain, we’ll cancel classes and follow our standard registration policies. Students may choose to transfer their tuition to a future class or receive a refund. For on-site Clay Days workshops, we will confirm or cancel Friday evening classes and Saturday morning classes on Friday by noon. Saturday and Sunday afternoon classes will be confirmed or cancelled the morning of the class. You will receive an email directly from us and we will post updates on our social media accounts

RAKU FRIDAYS!

Head over to VisArts’ courtyard for Raku Fridays in August! Need a safe, socially distanced night out of the house, a date night or a fun night with friends? Join us for some raku pottery firing—an exciting approach to pottery surface design! Participants will glaze their pieces, help load them into the kiln, grab a beer or snack across the street at Goatocado, then return to enjoy the campfire-like atmosphere with friends on our back patio. We’ll also have some outdoor wheel throwing demos to watch while our pots are in the kiln.
