ONSITE: Stained Glass for the Absolute Beginner
Students will learn the fundamentals of building a stained glass panel from start to finish. This class is for students who are completely new to stained glass. Lessons will encompass pattern design, glass scoring/breaking, grinding, foiling, soldering, framing, and applying various patinas. Each student will have made at least one piece they can bring home and immediately display at the end of the class.
- There is lead in the solder used, pregnant students should check with OBGYN before registering. Please wear closed-toe shoes. This class is ONLY open to students who are new to VisArts or are new to glass. If you are not new to VisArts or glass, please take another class appropriate for your skill level. This class includes a "starter pack" of glass with the supply fee. Additional glass may want to be bought at a later date.
- Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible. About the Instructor
Letitia Harris is a Fine Artist from Richmond, Virginia. She grew up attending Richmond Public Schools and started working for RPS soon after college. She received her BFA from Virginia State University in 2014 with a concentration in Illustration and Printmaking. Since then, she has been teaching Fine Arts for the Public School Systems for over 5 years. She currently teaches Middle School Art for Chesterfield County Public Schools. She learned the Art of Stained Glass from, Master Teacher, Mary McNeil while attending the Art After School Program at Visarts.
