ONSITE: Of and From The Body: Writing Memory and Experience

Of and From the Body is a multi-genre writing workshop designed to create a communal space to generate lots of fresh, new writing and ideas for art. You don’t need to have experience to join, just a desire to write together and discuss what comes out of the prompts and exercises in a safe and encouraging container. The teacher will guide students with prompts, both somatic and written, to unearth fresh ideas, surprising images, and new connections for reflection. This class sees the body as our home base, and we’ll look at writing and art both about the body in a literal sense, and discuss what art seems to be, and makes us feel more embodied. Writers, artists, and aspiring creatives are welcome! All the writing we'll do can be stand alone, or used to open doors for any works-in-progress.
