ONSITE: Creating Glaze Test Tiles
You've always wanted to make your own personal set of test tiles! For best results your tiles will reflect your work; wheel thrown, handbuilt, & extruded test tiles will be covered. We'll explore ways to catalog and reference results. Mason stain slips and oxides may be utilized along with our fabulous Cone 6 and Cone 10 studio glazes.
- This is NOT a glaze formulation class.
- You will receive 25 pounds of clay; additional clay is available for purchase.
- Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
- Students must follow social distancing protocols and wear masks at all times. For more info visit visarts.org. This is an On-site course. About the Instructor
Karen Hull is a Richmond ceramic artist who teaches both wheel throwing and hand building clay classes at Visual Arts Center. Karen holds a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MA from Montclair State University. Her interest in drawing and painting is reflected in the surface treatment of her functional ceramic pieces. Karen especially loves creating mugs and bowls. Her work is shown at Shockoe Bottom Clay on East Main Street in Richmond, VA.
