ONSITE: Beginning Poetry

Start from scratch to write poems, read poems, learn about forms of poetry and discuss your work. We’ll use packets of poems, exercises, and essays supplied by the instructor. We’ll also use the 2019 Dodge Poetry Packet and another textbook to explore poetry.

Special Notes

  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

About the Instructor

Leslie Shiel

Leslie Shiel teaches at VCU, Randolph-Macon College, and holds private workshops. Her work has been published in The Southern Review, The Sun, Poetry International, and other publications. She has been the recipient of a fellowship from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
