Introduction to Metal Clay

Metal clay is a malleable material that can be used to make jewelry and other small, sculptural objects. Make a pair of silver earrings and a pendant that features a coil frame and appliqué focal design.

Special Notes

  • Materials will be available for purchase in class at a discounted cost; plan to spend approximately $45 on material.
  • A lunch break will be provided.
  • Students are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch.
  • Please note that for weekend workshops occurring on both Saturday and Sunday: Saturday classes run from 10 AM - 4 PM, Sunday classes run from 1 - 4 PM.
About the Instructor

Lora Hart

Lora Hart was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and moved to historic Richmond, Virginia in 2012. Lora is the Artistic Advisor and one of eight Senior Instructors for PMC Connection, a leading importer and distributor of Precious Metal Clay and metal clay accessories. Working with metal clay since the turn of the century, Lora has taught at numerous colleges (including Otis College of Art and Design), bead stores, and conferences & conventions around the country. An artist inspired by historic imagery, Lora's jewels and tutorials have been featured in a number of books, magazines, and calendars. As a designer, educator, and creativity coach, her passion for the art and business of jewelry making has taken her across the United States to help other makers explore their own passions, develop their craft and expand their skills.
