Fabric Dyeing and Quilting – New!

Plan and design your own fabrics to make a unique lap quilt. You’ll learn how to use dye to print and color cotton fabric, then you’ll explore the basics of quilt construction to create a lap quilt. For students who already know the basics of quilting, more challenging quilt designs will be suggested.

About the Instructor

Julia Pfaff

With an undergraduate degree in art history and a MFA in textiles, Julia has been quilting her entire life. She is a studio artist and has successfully turned a family tradition into a contemporary art form. She teaches at both the community and college level. Julia’s hand dyed and printed quilts have been exhibited extensively and can be found in numerous national publications and collections. During class you can ask her about working in Egypt, Greece, and Jordan as an archaeological technical artist.
