Continue working with the torch and borosilicate glass to expand your flameworking skills. You’ll build on techniques learned in Introduction to Flameworking and learn new, more advanced techniques. We’ll explore representation and how to sculpt the human figure. We’ll also learn more about color theory and application. Plan to walk away with a few small completed projects.
- Prerequisite: Students should have taken a hot glass or flame working class at VisArts or equivalent experience. All materials and equipment provided. Wear clothing made of natural fibers to class.
About the Instructor
Jack worked with glass for the first time in St. Petersburg, Florida under Dave Walker and Josh Poll. Soon after, he began learning about Chihuly glass, and sharing his knowledge as a docent at the Chihuly Collection. After his first time at Penland School of Crafts studying with Micah Evans, he moved to Richmond, Virginia where he took a position as Teachers Assistant for Christopher McElroy. Shortly after arriving, Jack opened a flame working studio where he rented space and taught lessons. After graduating from VCU, he continues to work with glass and push his artwork forward.See More Classes By Instructor Instructor Website
