Cloisonné Enameling

Cloisonné enameling is an ancient technique with contemporary applications. Learn basic enameling and how to create cloisons (French for “compartments”) that separate different colors and shapes in a finished cloisonné design. Plan on completing one small, finished piece.

Special Notes

  • Previous metal jewelry experience is recommended. All materials are provided. Please note that this class does use lead-based enamels.
About the Instructor

Liz Borsetti

Liz Borsetti graduated from VCU Craft/Material Studies in 2012 with a focus in metalsmithing. Resident artist of Mule Barn Craft Studio a collaborative studio located in the fan of Richmond, VA. As well as teaching enameling at Visarts, she is the Facility Coordinator.
