Bringing the Darkroom into the Classroom – New!
Photographic processes embody the crossroads of science, creativity and hands–on art–making, but these processes are traditionally limited to a darkroom. Explore old and new photographic processes that allow you to bring the creative power of photographic printing into the the light. We will explore cyanotypes, salt prints, lumen prints and the advent of digital negatives—all photographic processes that can be done in daylight. These techniques can be brought into the classroom to give students the opportunity to use some of the very first photographic processes, without the need of a traditional darkroom setup. Explore art history, science, visual art and the exciting “magic” of photography. Students will learn techniques that they can use to continue creating at home.
