Fall 2022 Marks VisArts’ Best Ever Member Week Registration

July 22, 2022 News

The Visual Arts Center of Richmond reached a milestone with the release of its Fall 2022 class catalog. The 58-year-old community arts organization had over 500 class registrations during member week which ran from July 13-20, 2022. Registrations for Fall 2022 surpassed peak pre-pandemic registrations levels during Fall 2019, which until now, held the record.

Member registration week permits VisArts members to register one week earlier than the general public, a perk that comes with a  VisArts annual membership. “This milestone is special because it means that people value what we offer to the community; a space to create and a knowledge base of teaching artists that help us tap into personal creativity. It also means our membership program is growing which directly supports our operations and programming efforts,” says Stefanie Fedor, VisArts’ Executive Director, “It’s nice to know people want to be here with us making art in the studios.”

Registration for fall classes at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond opened to the public on Wednesday, July 20. Over 250 onsite and online adult and youth classes will be offered. Including new Art After School classes,  new 3D art classes, and classes taught by teachers new to VisArts such as Lil Lamberta, Director of the Richmond All the Saints Theater will teach “Larger Than Life Puppet Making: All the Saints Theater Workshop onsite at VisArts just before Richmond’s annual Halloween parade in October. A new class by Richmond’s inaugural poet laureate and creator of The Writers’ Den, Roscoe Burnems will also be offered at VisArts this fall.  “Unpacking Humanity Through Spoken Word” will be Roscoe’s inaugural class taught at VisArts this fall.
