VisArts Hosts Free Public Reading and Q&A Session with Local Author Kathy Davis
The Visual Arts Center of Richmond will host a Free public reading and Q&A with poet and nonfiction writer Katy Davis on September 17 from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at VisArts.
Kathy Davis is a poet and nonfiction writer who lives in Rockville, VA. Her poetry manuscript, Passiflora, won the 2019 Cider Press Review Book Award and was released in February 2021. She also is the author of the chapbook Holding for the Farrier (Finishing Line Press). Her work has appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, Barrow Street, Blackbird, Guernica Magazine, the Hudson Review, Nashville Review, Oxford American, The Southern Review, Solstice Literary Magazine and other journals. Kathy holds a BA and MBA from Vanderbilt University and an MFA in creative writing from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and been a finalist for Best of the Net and the Conger Beasley Jr. Award for Nonfiction.

This year, we’ll be holding the public reading by local writer Kathy Davis as well as workshops with instructor Leslie Shiel and Rosa Castellano, as part of the Susan Early Nature Writing Seminar,” says VisArts Education and Programming Director Jordan Brown.
