Beginning/Intermediate Wheel Throwing
Beginner/Intermediate
This class is for students who have a specific interest in learning to throw on the wheel. The instructor emphasizes basic throwing techniques as well as more advanced wheel projects. Students will learn to make mugs, bowls and plates as well as more complex forms. Basic glazing techniques for Cone 6 electric and Cone 10 reduction firing will be demonstrated.

Ceramic Sculpture

Combine function with sculpture to create useful works of art. This class will introduce basics of making forms in clay. Students will be introduced to wheel throwing as well as hand building techniques.

Clay for the House and Garden
All Levels
The fundamentals of ceramics are covered as students explore endless design possibilities for creating objects both functional and sculptural for the house and garden. Handbuilding techniques, including drape molding, slab construction, and extrusions are emphasized. Students with previous experience can also incorporate wheel-thrown forms.

Handbuilding
Intermediate/Advanced
Designed for those who have completed several pottery classes, this course focuses on handbuilding, with an emphasis on individual instruction for students wanting to pursue independent directions in clay. We focus on aesthetic considerations, from construction to final glazing. Previous handbuilding experience required.

Intermediate/Advanced Wheel Throwing
Intermediate/Advanced
Open to students with some throwing experience, this course provides the opportunity for students to build on their throwing skills. From cups and saucers to more complex multi-piece and altered forms, this course helps students to build on their throwing and decorating skills with an emphasis on integrating form and surface decoration. This course focuses on Cone 6 electric and Cone 10 reduction firing.

Majolica New!
Intermediate/Advanced
Majolica is decorated tin-glazed earthenware. Majolica ware is characterized by brightly colored, painterly surfaces painted directly onto an unfired white base glaze. Using terra cotta clay we will make forms by the handbuildling and wheel throwing and decorate them using traditional majolica techniques.

Pottery for Everyone

Open to anyone age 10 and above, this is a great class for the entire family. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
