Using metalsmithing tools to learn the techniques of cutting, piercing, and soldering, students will learn to fabricate their own 3-d art forms or jewelry out of sheets of brass, copper, aluminum, and wire. [X]

Printmaking is a fun and easy way to turn your creative images into colorful multiples, and this class will explore block and relief printing and introduce monotypes and other printing processes. We will have a great time with carving tools and non-toxic inks and print on beautiful textures and surfaces. [X]

This is a great introduction to working with clay on the wheel. We will learn the basics of handling clay, centering and raising forms on the wheel, as well as the basics of glazing and firing (ages 12 - 16 sorry, no exceptions made). [X]

Students will learn to visualize through the camera’s lens as they compose pictures with a 35mmcamera. The course includes lessons on composition, timing, subject matter, and basic camera operations, a picture-taking field trip on Tuesday, and darkroom time for printing the rest of the week. Students are encouraged to bring in a 35mm camera, or may borrow one of ours for the week.[X]

Artists young and old will get a bit of art history while learning artistic tricks and techniques. We'll be inspired by famous art such as Vincent Van Gogh’s impasto paintings, Henri Matisse's collages, Andy Warhol's stencils and prints, and Cindy Sherman's character photographs, and have fun using their styles to create our own quirky, original pieces of art. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian in this class. [X]

Masks are for celebrations! Incorporating Puerto Rican, African, and Latin American festival Students will create papier mache and plaster masks using sculptural techniques that include mixed media applications and decorative painting.[X]

If you have ever wanted to work like designers do on "Project Runway" then this is the class for you. Using muslin, we will design and paint our own fabrics, create patterns, and sew our own garments using machines. Demonstrations will include sewing and pattern design techniques, and students are encouraged to "go green" in collecting embellishments for their projects.[X]

Be your own director! Students will explore to the basic techniques involved in low-budget video production.  Learning through the use of video cameras and editing software, students will learn the self-expressive possibilities afforded by the moving image. In addition to discovering various shooting and editing forms, the goal of this class will be for students to thoughtfully consider the range of imagery presented through movies and television. [X]

With a few visits from animal friends who model for this class, students will use traditional and experimental painting techniques to create extraordinary works of art.  Bring your imagination and love for animals & you will take home a portfolio of animal paintings by the end of the week! [X]
