Students will learn to visualize through the camera’s lens as they compose pictures with a 35mmcamera. The course includes lessons on composition, timing, subject matter, and basic camera operations, a picture-taking field trip on Tuesday, and darkroom time for printing the rest of the week. Students are encouraged to bring in a 35mm camera, or may borrow one of ours for the week.[X]

Using fabrics and scrap materials, Kendra's classes will incorporate innovative weaving techniques to create hanging tapestries and sculptures. Using collage techniques and found objects, Jessica's classes will find inspiration through artist references to transform objects into collective time capsules, identity treasure boxes, and artist trading cards.[X]

Using classroom exercises to develop skills and generate ideas, we will concentrate on completing one or more 6 x 3 feet drawings. Students are encouraged to bring photographs and sketches for ideas. Pencil, markers, pastels and paper will be provided along with additional image sources and inspiration.[X]
