Jessica Bauserman holds a BFA from VCU with coursework in Art Education. She coordinates the Visual Arts Center’s Young Artist Society (YAS), a program which engages teens in Richmond’s contemporary art scene.
Ingrid Bernhardt is a graduate of the Pratt Institute. Her beadwork is exhibited nationally and she regularly exhibits at the Craft & Design Show.
Helen Cassidy holds a BFA in painting and printmaking from VCU and is a professional book artist and conservator of books and paper. Anne Chamblin is a painter and graduate of VCU. She teaches and exhibits in the region.
Amy Chaplin holds a BS in education and a BFA from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. She is an instructor in the art depart- ment at Trinity Episcopal High School.
Ashley Dowdy is a fine arts and photography teacher in Chester- field County schools.
Janet Gilmore is a professional artist who has taught at the VACR since 1989. She is a member of the One/Off Professional Printmak- ing Organization and holds a MA from Vanderbuilt University and a MFA from Columbia University.
Sarah Hand is a local artist and puppeteer who developed educational programs for the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Summer Bookshelf & Young at Art series at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
Cherri Allen Hankins is the owner of Maiden’s Hand Weaver and teaches a variety of fiber arts locally.
Maripatt Hyatt is a local teacher and professional artist. She has received the VA Art Education Association’s Elementary Art Educator of the Year 2004 award, and most recently was named the 2006 National Art Education Association’s Southeast Region Elementary Art Teacher of the Year.
Katie McBride has a BFA from VCU in Communication Arts and Design and works as a free-lance illustrator and designer.
Richard McCord is a professional ceramic sculptor who has been teaching at the Visual Arts Center for over 20 years. He served as VisArt’s Master Teacher for 2001.
Mary McNeil is a local teacher and stained glass artist.
Kirk O’Brien is a professional freelance cartoonist and illustrator. His work can be viewed on his website at www.inkyline.com. He served as the VACR’s Master Teacher for 2003.
Susan Quinnild is a watercolor instructor and studio potter. She served as the VACR’s 2005 Master Teacher.
Shane Rocheleau is a graduate of St. Michael’s College, and an MFA candidate of VCU. He has taught for several years in the summer Artventure program.

Jay Sharpe is a professional metalsmith who holds a BFA from VCU and is the proprietor of a jewelry store in Richmond.
Catherine Southall has a BFA in Fashion Design and twenty years experience in the fashion industry.
David Tanner is a professional portrait painter with a BFA in Paint- ing from VCU. He is a member of The Portrait Society of America and The American Society for Classical Realism and has studied under modern master Nelson Shanks at the Studio Incamminati. David served asVACR’s 2006 MasterTeacher; his work can be seen at TannerPortraits.com.
Sarah Thompson is a photographer with a BA from the University of the South and is working toward her MA in Art History at VCU. She holds a professional certification in photography from the Maine Photographic Workshops/Rockport College.
Kendra Wadsworth holds a MFA in Painting from the University of Pennsylvania and a BFA in Painting from VCU. She has worked as a painting, drawing and ceramics instructor on the university, community college and grade school levels.
Christopher Wiedeman holds an MFA in Photography and Film from VCU and is a recipient of a 2006–2007 Virginia Museum Fine ARts Professional Fellowship.
